According to an article released by Reuters recently, four major record labels will be donating some of their music tracks to support the Japanese Red Cross Society in hopes that many will support the effort and provide a substantial relief effort to the nation which definitely needs the support of the world.
It first started out as a plan by Universal Records but soon other labels heard about it and wanted to join in. Sony will be aiding in the effort as well as Itunes who will be donating some of the proceeds to The Japanese Red Cross.
The resulting album is called Songs for Japan and it has 38 tracks from artists such as John Lennon's "Imagine", U2's "Walk On", Bob Dylan "Shelter From the Storm", Lady Gaga "Born This Way" and Bruce Springsteen "Human Touch".
